Glencoe Light and Power Commission is an electric utility seeking an individual in the mechanical/electrical technician field (or equivalent work experience) to operate and maintain its generation facilities and substations in compliance with all applicable state, federal and industry related regulations.
Desired education and experience include a two-year degree in an electrical or mechanical technical program with moderate experience in electrical and mechanical work or equivalent. Knowledge and understanding of electronic instrumentation and control equipment such as PLC’s and SCADA systems preferred. Requires, good driving record and a valid driver’s license. Ability to report to the Generation Facility within 30 minutes. Must obtain a Class A commercial driver’s license within 6 months of employment. Must obtain a “Special Engineer” boilers license within the first 6 months of employment. A post-job-offer physical, including drug/alcohol test is also required.
